Approach
Adolescent gynecology focuses on menstrual concerns, pain, discharge, puberty-related questions, and the first gynecologic visit in a calm and age-appropriate way.
The goal is not simply examination. It is also to reduce fear, provide accurate information, and create a safe healthcare relationship from the beginning.
Symptoms, cycle pattern, and questions are discussed first.
An examination is not required at every visit and is planned only when appropriate.
Additional tests may be planned depending on pain, irregular cycles, or hormone concerns.
Daily care, cycle tracking, pain management, and follow-up are explained clearly.

No. History and conversation are often the first step. Examination is only planned when truly necessary and after explanation.
Family support can be helpful depending on age and circumstances, but the young patient feeling safe and heard is always the priority.
Unnecessary vaginal examination is avoided. External assessment or ultrasound is preferred when appropriate.
Some irregularity can occur in the early years, but persistent, prolonged, or heavy problems should still be evaluated.
Evaluation is recommended for severe pain, prolonged irregularity, heavy bleeding, discharge, itching, or concerns about puberty.
